When I was first approached by CARE Complex to provide medical services for the homeless two and a half years ago, I knew I had to. Both of our organizations have very similar philosophy in helping people. I learned in the beginning that the founder of CARE, Mike, instead of using the limited financial resources to fix the run-down warehouse at the time he bought on Foremaster Lane, he used it all to buy bus tickets and order birth certificates for CARE clients. I knew his priority was on people, not on buildings. His many years of helping our homeless friends directly on the street gave him unique real-life practical insight into the complex situation that is quintessential in ending homelessness. Operation H.O.P.E. started with the very same origin of establishing trust and friendships with the homeless on the street with whatever we had at the time such as PBJ sandwiches, chicken soups, blankets, etc. some thirty years ago. After much community support and many hours of hard work by our volunteers, we have provided no cost medical care to over 16,000 patients in Las Vegas. It’s been an amazing journey and rewarding experience especially to see our former homeless friends returning to volunteer after obtaining permanent housing and employment. Providing medical care is small part of the solution and partnering with a genuine compassionate people of CARE makes our effort synergistically worthwhile. Yes, there is so much need and so little resources it seems at times. Not enough money, not enough services. . It is the genuine love that ends homelessness, not money or programs. Although important, what we do is not as important as how we do it. How we do it makes all the difference. With so little, we can do so much together because we truly CARE and HOPE for people.read more

World Fellowship Ministries is an outreach missions ministry based in Las Vegas, Nevada. We provide biblical teaching to spiritually grow a community of homeless or impoverished personnel residing in the Corridor of Hope. We are proud to minister to the homeless and impoverished of Las Vegas, equipping and empowering them through the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our vision statement, “Creating a radically inclusive, just and loving community-mobilized to help alleviate suffering, and break the cycles of poverty and marginalization.” For well over a year World Fellowship Ministries has been conducting and holding worship services and bible studies at the CARE Complex. The leadership and support staff of the CARE Complex have worked with and partnered with us and have been wonderful in providing an atmosphere of inclusion and support. We counted a joy, honor, and privilege that we are able to do the work that we do at the CARE Complex. The CARE Complex has a myriad of support and counseling services for the local community. We’ve been allowed to bring our spiritual support to the same community. Our prayer is that those that are seeking help and support (emotional, psychological, financial, spiritual) can always find it at the CARE Complex. CARE helps individuals attain self-sufficiency and self-reliance rather than dependency. They fill a gap that other organizations do not fill. To help me vet the organization, I invited several stake members to tour the facility … all were impressed and felt it a worthwhile organization … CARE Complex is an entity worthy of church humanitarian funds. They bless the lives of many.

Homeless services have always been core to Silver State Health’s delivery model. As such, having the opportunity to collaborate with a partner as compassionate, focused, and professional as the CARE Complex has been integral to the services we perform. It’s incredibly refreshing and encouraging to see an organization whose spirit and work brings hope to so many in need throughout the community. I look forward to our continued relationship and shared determination to provide respite, relief, and care to homeless individuals in Las Vegas.read more
